For the most part this thread was tl;dr. Just few things I wanted to point out, because I'm sick of idiots making these redundant points in these threads. Mac/Linux/X doesn't/is less likely to get viruses.
If you say Mac/Linux/X doesn't get viruses, you are an idiot. End of story. If you say they are less likely to get a virus, you're making a completely moot point and talking about something completely arbitrary. In context, because Mac/Linux/X has a much smaller user pool, think of it this way, if I give you a spear gun, with and you are only allowed to fire a single shot to catch a fish, and then take you to two Olympic sized swimming pools, one has 10 gold fish in it, the other has 1000 flounder in it, which pool are you going to fire in to to catch a fish? Every OS has exploits, vulnerabilities, and viruses. And furthermore every OS has a user, and that's one big fuck off vulnerability right there, you could design the most impeccably secure system possible, but put the most incompetent muppet in control of it and your efforts are for naught.
Secondly, if you've never actually used an OS for an extended period of time, and thus don't rightly know what the fuck you are talking about, then keep your fucking mouth shut, you're just making yourself look stupid, and no one cares about your uneducated opinion, if you wanna be a fanboy of something, go buy a console or go see Miley Cyrus or something.
Thirdly, if you want to claim that X Y or Z OS doesn't play games, or doesn't do X Y or Z, refer to my second point and shut the fuck up.
Lastly, different OS's were developed for different user pools, with different tasks in mind, people also have different preferences. Anyone who decides to go with mac because some sniveling fuckmook was droning on about how Macs are totally awesome for media, when they actually want to host a web server is a fucking idiot.
There were probably some other stupid points brought up in the thread, but I couldn't be fucked reading all the stupid.
